Campaign financial crises causes McCain to sell stuff
Admitting that his campaign is effectively broke, McCain stated, “We are by no means out of this race. We will press forward with our fundraising and continue to get our message out to the American people. Those shoes are $10 for two pair. I only wore them a couple of times.”
In a scene that could only be described as humbling, the senator from Arizona was in his front yard running a yard sale to raise enough money to get to his next campaign stop in Iowa. After his planned speech there, he said he plans to “Maybe stay in Iowa a while. Bond with the people. What I would like to do is actually stay with average Americans, in their homes, throughout the campaign. Eat dinner with them in their homes and discuss issues concerning them. And sleep there.”
In addition to his campaign’s financial crises, Sen. McCain has recently shifted his campaign focus from winning the war on terror and reducing the national debt to speaking solely on the need to lower gas prices.
