Joe Paterno goals for ‘07 - #1 “I would like to not crap my pants this year”
Among the goals Penn State coach Joe Paterno has set for himself and his Nittany Lions for the upcoming season, one stands out as both brutally honest and ridiculously comical. There are the routine goals regarding turnover ratios, 3rd down conversions, etc. But the one that stands out also happens to be at the top of the list, “I would really like to not crap in my pants this year.”
In an apparent reference to last years game vs Ohio State during which he had to run off the field of play twice, once during a crucial 4th and 5 at their own 6 yard line, Paterno stated, “It was the worst moment of my coaching career. I honestly can’t remember if we won or not. I made it o.k. the first time, but the second, all I can tell you is that when I came back out in the 4th quarter, I was......what is it the kids are calling it? ‘Going commando’?”
We at NationalSquib would like to wish Coach Paterno the best of luck regarding his team’s turnover ratio and and his desire not to crap his pants.
